Last year or so I picked up a Triple K cowboy rig for my Ruger Vaquero in .45 Colt. I didn't expect to be picking up more cowboy shooters so quick, but alas I DID. Even though I wear a 36" waist jeans, the Triple K XL belt was not what you'd call overly large. I had some black leather already in a belt width so I replaced the smaller section adding a little breathing room and a little accent to the belt. I had only the one holster for it, the cross draw 5.5" with the single loop (similar to John Wayne's style holsters). I wanted the 5.5" Vaquero to no go strong side and the Birds Head 3.75: to go cross draw. Used the original holster as a pattern for the new 5.5" and trimmed the cross draw down to size. I replaced the loop with more black leather and instead of putting the sheriff's star concho on, I sandblasted the Ruger logo. I only had Mahogany stain and as you see it's not quite the same as the original belt. especially in the lighted photo.
