Alright, so I bought a VKT M39 recently, I'm having problems with the bolt holding open, when its fully retracted (i.e you recycle the bolt assembly and instead of it being caught by the sear, it slides out as if you're disassembling it). I want to say its because there is no trigger spring pressure, but maybe someone knows otherwise.

Take the metal out of the stock, clean all the cosomolene out of it, and see if it works out of the stock.

If it does, you have wood in the stock binding up the trigger return.

If that's the case?
Carve it out of the way.

like rc said take it out of the stock clean and check the wood. the trigger only has 3 parts that do the job. the bolt stop is part of the trigger spring. here are some pictures of how it should look.

I had that same problem when a trigger spring on a Mosin cracked. These springs can fatigue fracture, mine did, and I had to replace it.

The bolt stop is actually the small machined bump on the top of the trigger itself; not part of the trigger spring.
If it's broken off, the trigger must be replaced.
