So SOG has 91/30s at a reasonable price and I picked up one earlier today. After stripping all the cosmoline off with mostly boiling water on the steel and and paint thinner on the stock the gun looks really good, but removing the cosmoline shows the wear in the stock. Some scratches and scrapes but nothing too bad.
I have no interest in refinishing the stock, just touching up the bad spots. Is it lacquer, oil, shellac, or some other finish? How do I best touch it up while being fairly unnoticeable. Wax maybe?
