I shoot trap with a guy who has one. It's a synthetic; I think he wanted walnut but took what he could get. This was about 6 months ago.
The gun is solid, seems to balance well, and has performed flawlessly for him.
I wouldn't be surprised if they sold faster than Mossberg thought they'd need to produce them. The thing was something like $450 retail, maybe a few bucks less. That's a LOT lower than the price of an 11-87 or a 3901, for a gun that seems to be their equal. Actually, I like it better than the 11-87 Sportsman, which is an overweight shotgun with a rust-prone finish, for too much money. No reason not to get the Premier, IMO.
Time will tell, of course, but Mossberg has a pretty good reputation for building good guns for less money than their competitors.
