mounting an aimshot on a Win 1300 Defender

I bought a flashlight mount for my 1300 today. It's one of those that mounts the light under the mag. Is anyone else using that sort of setup? The metal bracket that came w/ it seems to be too thick to fit between the mag and barrel. Is there a similar mount people recommend? Should I just mount it on the side of the gun (next to the mag tube) instead of under the mag tube?
