Saturday June 15th Spotter responsibilities class:

Covering spotter/shooter duties and dialog as a team. Focusing on the duties of the spotter to assist the shooter to deliver rapid accurate fire. Great class for competitive shooting teams, hunters, or long range enthusiast. AT MTC we always promote the use of a spotter, this class will make you understand why.

Note: This individual class is also part of the Long Range Basics (Level 2) course.


Gear List Gear list

Mandatory:
•Note taking gear (Pencil, paper, clipboard)
•Rifle with quality scope
•A spotter (Come as a 2 person team if possible)
•Databook/ballistics table (for your rifle)
•1 spotting scope per team

Recommended:
* 40(min) rounds of match grade per person
* Can sit in class with zero ammo.

Description
Field Skills – Level I (Observation and Individual Concealment Skills) -June 16th - 9:00am -Half Day -$100 per student (members receive a 20% discount)

-Course description: This course is designed to improve field skills for advanced modern sportsmen.
This non-live fire course covers in depth target detection skills of scanning and picking out hidden targets as well as a detailed lesson on Ghillie Suit construction. As a recreational shooter, competitor, or a diehard outdoor sportsman – this course is a must. -Prerequisites: None. -
Required Equipment: -Note taking gear, (pencil, paper, and clipboard). -Optics (binoculars, rifle scope, spotting scope, or all three) -Snacks and beverages. -Suitable clothing for indoor and outdoor training. -
Optional Equipment: -Shooting mat for prone observation practice. -Ghillie suit not required – bring it if you have one. -Camp chair for down time -1st class: Target Detection and Observation skills -What is a target indicator? -Scanning techniques -Target detection training -Practical application -2nd class: Ghillie Suit Camouflage. -Why they are used. -History -Different types -Base layer materials -Netting options -Jute vs. synthetic string -Coloring vs natural tan -Natural vegetation -How used in the field If you enjoy this class, stand by for Field Craft – Level II where you will test your advanced skills in the field with target detection, stealth exercises, movement to target, and live fire engagements.
