I live in Nevada (a welcome relief from California). just wondering if there's a limit to the number of [non-NFA] guns one can buy at one time. Is there any special paperwork involved for multiple purchases besides 4473's? How would the rules differ for private party sales?

There's no additional paperwork for you, though I'm not sure how many serial #'s they can fit on a single 4473 or if they're allowed to attach additional paperwork to one if they fill in all the slots. I'm sure an FFL will be along sometime to clear that one up.

However, if you purchase more than 1 handgun from an FFL in a 24 hour period they have to file some additional paperwork with the ATF.

I usually buy more than one gun at a time, 4 or 5 isn't unusual. I buy on Gunbroker or AuctionArms and have them shipped to my dealer. I also carry his FFL when I'm at out-of-state gun shows (all gun shows are out of state when you live in NJ) and have my purchases shipped to him. Last spring I picked up 6 guns, paid for only one $15 NICS check and was out the door. The dealer filled in what he could on the 4473, put the rest on a sheet of notebook paper, and stapled them together.

You can attach however many extra sheets to your 4473, when you go and pick up your truckload of Mosin Nagants

and it's one pistol per 5 business days, not 24h, that brings out the "multiple handgun purchase form" (at least that's the federal law).

My record is fourteen pistols, two shotguns, and eight rifles in a single purchase. :)

And most gun stores here in Vegas ask you if you've bought a gun from them within 5 days or not,so its best to 'purchase' over a period of time if you can.

Wow. Did you get a call from ATF?

The most I've ever done in one day was two handguns and one rifle. No call from ATF.

Needing a picture ID to vote is intimidating, according to the Dims.

The whole point of this is to intimidate gun owners. I've done multiple handgun purchases many times. Its just job security for some government lackey, and another burden on your dealer, its really nothing you have to worry about at all.
