About 16 years ago I swapped a Colt Anaconda (I had foolishly traded a 6" nickel M29-2 for the Colt and came to realize the Anaconda was junk) for a Ruger #1 Light Sporter. Some dolt had cut the stock for a kid or a woman necessitating the ugly black spacer to restore the length of pull.
Despite its warts I came to really like the #1 so about 5 years ago I bought another Light Sporter which was in perfect shape and in a much more useful caliber.
About 3 years ago a friend offered me this Tropical in trade for something I had and he wanted.
About a month ago I bagged this RSI "International" with ideas of modifying it into a different caliber but decided to leave it as issued.
Last week I acquired a Medium Sporter in 300 H&H to fulfill my desire to have a #1 in that caliber (that's what I originally had in mind for the '06). I think I would prefer the 22" barrel of the Light Sporter but I won't cut this one.
If I had one in 375 H&H I think I would pretty much have the caliber spectrum covered. I'll have to think about that, some.
