A few monthes ago, I got a Midway barrel (used) with a Target match chamber, from another member on here... this is the starting point for a buildup...
I picked up a used 10/22 at a gunshow, and a BSA Sweet .22 3-9X40 scope, a Volquartsen trigger parts kit, and finally, 2 weeks ago, a "new" Boyds thumbhole target stock unfinished "in the rough" in grey laminate... (also from Volquartsen)
I sanded and shaped the stock, then started with Boiled Linseed Oil (which DRAMATICALLY darkened the stock... far more than I originally wanted!...) I finished it up with Tung oil, for gloss...
all in all, the dark stock has grown on me... IF this pic works, what do y'all think? (I am also getting sub-1" groups at 100 yards.) It shoots SWEET!
