I have a local shop that I swear is run by a psychic. When the pre-production SIG 1911s came out I wanted to play with one and blam he had one.

When I wanted to build up a Savage tactical rifle in .308 blam he had one all set up the way I wanted. It came home with me and is a tack driver.

Recently I have wanted to pick up a CZ452, scope it and basically set the trigger up to break like the CZ set triggers..........and blam!!! there it was.

So now I am the proud owner of a CZ452 American with the sweetest trigger you have ever felt, Bushnell Elite 4200 8-32X AO glass, Harris Bi-Pod, metal magazine, polished bolt and hard case. I cannot wait to get this thing out to the range but I have been told the previous owner, who is my gun guy's doctor simply buys and plays with things for a bit and then sells. The CZ was a project gun for him and once he built it up and got it up to what is suppossed to be postage stamp 100 yard accuracy  (We'll See), he sold it off for a new project.

Here is the mandatory picture, albeit a crappy one. Range report to follow. I am struck by how nice this .22 rifle is. It feels more like a "real" rifle then a .22 plinker.

Hoo-ah, that's some serious glass for a .22

You'll like your CZ. Probably has Brookie's trigger kit or an adjustable sear in it. I have the full stock model and it is just a delight to shoot and to look at. Only fly in the ointment is a semi-chintzy trigger guard, but it works fine all the same.

Oh, and your gun guy isn't psychic. Like Olivander says in the first Harry Potter book, "the wand choses the wizard". Range report is eagerly awaited.

These things are great but they're very ammo sensitive.... mine shot good with pretty much anything but the Eley Subsonic is awesome in mine .3s at 50M.

Wolf Match Target shoots under .5 at 50M as to TENX, Laupa Midas, Pistol Match and Remington Subsonic (which is less than 2 bucks a box!)

I have the varmint model, with the Brownell's trigger kit, I've bedded it and free floated the barrel

Very nice Chris. Where did you get it, the Bench? If I promise to let you play with my new supreesor, can I play with your new toy? (I paid for it Wednesday. Hopefully, the paperwork won't take more than 3-4 months.)

psychic gun guys... lol, yeah, i know what you mean.

i walked into the shop i frequent most just before x-mas and the proprietor says 'glad you came in.. have i got the gun for you...' since it was close to x-mas, i could only put it on layaway, but i'll be picking it up later today.

then, the last time i walked in, he didn't even say anything - he just smiled like a big chessie cat, and thrust a gun into my hands... yeah, i bought that one, and ordered another because it was just what i happened to need...

-sigh- one of these days i won't be in need of anything and i'll be able to 'just say no!'

Very nice. Congrats on your newest acquisition. Looks like you're going to need a new safe. :)

Range report soon?

Very nice. I love my 452. Be sure to play with a lot of different ammo types to see what works best in yours. Mine shoots any of the 40grain stuff very well.

Of course you can play with it Frank. Course I am bummed because it looks like I won't be able to play with my new toy until next weekend at the earliest.

I picked it up at Joelton ASP. Rob always cuts me a great deal on stuff, basically because he knows I am a sucker and he will make up for it in quantity.

What are we supressing? You do know that it doesn't give you the right to plink in your back yard, just because the neighbors can't hear you doesn't make it OK, well maybe a little  Just kidding.

I am anxious to get it out with the other .22s to get a feel for it.

Since you Tony, and Bryan have all fired my modified 10/22 you will understand the comparison of this CZ trigger vs. the 10/22s. The CZ trigger makes my custom 10/22 one feel like garbage. It is like the difference between my custom 10/22 to my stock 10/22 trigger. It should be a great range gun.

I think I'd like to get one of them myself. In the gunshop this weekend I asked if they stocked CZ rifles (they don't with pistols) and the answer was no. I said I was looking for a bolt action .22 rifle and mentioned that the 452 was appealing to me... so the clerk grabbed a $900 Kimber Pro Varmint off the rack.

Erhm... not exactly in the same price bracket.

nice gun, let us know how it shoots! updates cmon cmon!

I'd looking to get a CZ P-01 in march for my first handgun, I really love their whole lineup, good prices too

I think you'll like your CZ. I have the Lux. It shoots everything in the 40 grain range as well. Very little fluctuation. Light bullets and shorts will show flyers.

Here's a 5 shot group at 50 yards with CCI Mini Mags I shot yesterday. I shot the string in about 90 seconds to the stringing may be due to heat.

Chris,

I'll be getting the barrels of my 10/22 and my MkII threaded for the suppressor. I'm also considering the idea of threading my sons' Keystone Arms Cricket (Since it's a single-shot, bolt-action, it should be very quiet, especially with Aguilla SSS.).

Yippee! While typing this reply, the guy I'm buying the can from called. I'm meeting him in 10 minutes to fill out the paperwork. Now the wait really begins.

My CZ 452 trainer with tangent sights has bagged plenty of game, and is remarkably tough. Dollar-for-dollar it's the best buy for a new rifle I'm aware of.
