I'm working on my commercial pilot certificate now and should be done before Christmas.
I have done a few trips in an owner operated airplane with a buddy of mine and am kind of hoping to take his job flying that plane when he vacates it.
The passengers will be able to rest assured that their pilot is well armed.
General aviation allows you into airports that don't have metal detectors and TSA screeners. The worst I've ever seen was a 'no guns' sign citing a county ordnance in Franklin, NC.
Security and privacy are one of the more significant reasons that people are electing to do their travelling in private/charter/corporate (vs. airline) aircraft.
