My M1 Garand

Playing around with our new digital camera.....thought I'd try and post some of my CMP M1. Its a SA/SG, ser#2,7xx,xxx with a SA 11-43 barrel. The only thing I did was clean the stock with some Murphy's Oil Soap, then put a couple of coats of Minwax Tung Oil.

Dip some 0000 steel wool in the tung oil and rub down the wood with it. Then wipe the rifle down immediately and let it dry. This will knock down the gloss.

I was watching "Halls of Montezuma" yesterday. Man, they had a lot of Garands in that movie. I'd like to have a few myself.
