I found a new favorite powder for .357 mag with cast bullets ! IMR4756 I loaded up some 125 grain Hunter Supply lead swc bullets ! It was clean burning and low flash ! I followed a load described in the Lyman cast bullet handbook !

I've used SR-4756 for .38 loads since about 1965. It's a great powder for that caliber and does well with some others, such as 9x19 and .45 acp. I'm still working off a 12 pound keg of it that I bought around 1979. It doesn't take much, so it goes a long way.

Hope this helps.

I just recently tried some SR 4756 and it is definitely a good powder. It worked very well in the 9MM loads I tried with it. I have not tried much else with it yet, but it does not like being downloaded in the .357.

SR-4756 works best up near the maximum. It burns clean and gives pretty good velocity and accuracy. I've never tried it in .357 Magnum, since there are so many other powders that work better in that caliber.

Hope this helps.

Ditto - Love SR-4756 in 9mm pushing jacketed or plated 115gr bullets. Have used it with success in milder cast 44mag loads as well, although several other powders I've tried in this application were found to be much better.

Don't know anyone loading it in 357 but see no reason why it wouldn't work fine - always burns real well without mag primers anywhere I've tried it and drops pretty consistently out of a powder measure for a flake type.
