I must have 10 shooting bags scattered around the garage. Everything has it's own purpose but I decided to make one myself that was bare boned but held what I normally take with me to the range.
I picked up "The Act Of Making Leather Cases" by Al Stohlman, Volume II from Tandy Leather.
I picked the briefcase. I modified the pattern so that my Black Momba would fit without trouble. It's 16 X 3 X 15. Luckilly I had enough leather to cut everything out.
Here it is in an early stage, cut burnished and dyed. The piece has lots of character, with a branding marks and barb wire scores across the entire piece.
A few days into it I now have to wait for it to dry, then finish it by stitching the sides. I'm also waiting on the lock and I have to make the handle.
I'll post final pictures when it's done.
