It's our anniversary today, and my husband dave5339 gave me a wonderful gift! A custom knife, to go along with my carry Kimber! Well, I won't actually be carrying this particular knife (could't afford to lose it!), but I would if I could!

Loveless-style drop point hunter with flat grinds.
Damasteel blade, Infinity pattern.
Heat treatement: Paul Bos, 60.5 Rockwell.
Bolsters: 416 stainless steel.
Handle: Eskimo artifact whale jawbone with mosaic pins.
Maker: James E. Drouillard II
Produced: December 2003, Texas.

Hubby received his new Rafter S black sharkskin carry belt. I also got a Rafter S mag carrier in black sharkskin! I love my husband, he's the BEST!

Very nice pattern on the knife. Always a joy to have a fine custom knife !

IF I understand TX law correctly, and I am NOT a lawyer, I think its 3" fixed blade would be legal to carry, at least openly. Not sure on concealed blade laws here.

Tejon's right; It's 5.5. Fixed blade is fine and concealed/ unconcealed doesn't matter.

Beautiful knife and I like that you replaced Kimber's McCormick sights with MMCs.

Yes, 5.5". Thanks, Thumper, did not get back to THR last night.

Don't know how this is enforced down there. My buddy in Austin does martial arts outside in parks down there. Carries swords much longer than 5.5". He's never been hassled. Maybe like the anti-club law down there?

The front got replace as well, with a smalldot Ashley Big Eye. The MMC btw, is their express wide V, with a single tritium vertical post.

Congratulations Vicky. I'm not knife fanatic , but I always have one with me (Ronin from Spyderco now). All I want to say - beautiful. Good idea with Damasteel slide. Take a look here and remember you can have also a Damascus parts like trigger, hammer etc.:

Oh, Adam, you've done a BAD thing...:D I didn't need to SEE a source for Damascus slides for my 1911 collection! See, it'd be PERFECT for a Texas BBQ gun! (In TX, the TX Rangers LEOs often had a special pistol used only at big social functions, or barbecues. The pistol was generally HIGHLY ornate.) I think damascus would be perfect for a BBQ gun!

Too bad I haven't won the Mega Millions Lottery...:(
