well here it is, just bought this a few days ago. This is the compact Rock island Armory 1911. I must say I love the feel of this pistol, though a tad bit dissapointed in the performance of it. I have had two misfeeds in the 1st two mags i put through it, so I took in the house gave a quick cleaning and havn't had another since. could this be because it isn't broke in yet and all parts are still very tight?

I also attached the target I fired 7 rounds at it from 20ft. very impressed with the shot groups at the RIA puts out.

I would change the mags first thing since you've already experienced mag related malfs already -- personally, I'd go w/ Wilson -- but contrats on the pistol :)

Mine cost 425.00 nib, nice I like the black grips on yours. I am debating what upgrades I want to do to it right now. I realy do want to purt different grips and sights on it.

Congrats. I wouldn't worry about the failures in the first few mags. Kimber says their guns need a 500 round break in. I think that's excessive but with any semi-auto I wouldn't worry about failures until after the first 100 rounds.

Nice pistol, you're gonna love it! Put a few hundred rounds through it before you pass any judgement on it's performance, and clean it well. They come kinda tight and need to be limbered up. I put a Wolff recoil spring in mine, and it's been perfect ever since.

This is my first magazine through mine, right out of the box.
