Just picked up this Star Firestar Plus in 9mm. The "Plus" means a 13 rd magazine (instead of the Firestar's 8 rd mag) and a alloy frame instead of steel. It weighs 25 oz empty, is 6.5 inches long, holds 13+1, has a good single action trigger and a positive manual safety--in short, it has the mag capacity of my Hi Power in a pistol the size of my HK P7, and it is lighter than either one of those two. It carries well in a Don Hume JIT belt slide holster I'd originally bought for the BHP, and so far--thru 220 rds--it has functioned flawlessly. I think it will make a fine carry gun. Anyone else have one of these fine little guns? Here she is, then again with my P7 for size reference.

I have a Firestar 9mm. Sits in the safe these days, I haven't fired it in years and every time I think I'll sell it, I can't. It was my first non .22 handgun, probably had it almost 20 years.

Such a nice little 1911 style gun, I think they'd sell better these days.

I'll take it to the range next week I think.

Congrats. I used to own a Star Modelo Super that was a great gun. You never hear much about them, but the Stars in general have always seemed to be well built functional pistols.

I've had several Stars, but my favorite is the Firestar Plus, in their Starvel finish. Small, same top-end as the standard Star 9mm, but with a double-stack mag. Nice guns. If the trigger isn't already great, it can be made great quite easily.

ive never owned a firestar plus, but i just traded a m-43 firestar 9mm that i have had for years.

it was one of the hardest decisions i had ever made!i loved that handgun, and so did my stepson.when he bought his first handgun,a S&W model 4506-1 chambered in .45 acp he said it just didnt feel right in his hand.he was able to shoot it accuratley, but it just wasnt comfortable to him.so the offer was made.his S&W .45 for my firestar 9mm.
i never would have parted with that handgun to anyone else, but i look at it as my way of contributing to the next generation of shooters and knowing he my daughter in law and grandson are protected.
plus i got a nice handgun out of the deal too!

There's a proud grin in my face every time I see that one of you guys own one of these pistols, and like it. For any Spanish firearms enthusiast, the loss of our industry was a sad episode, good to see that these pistols are still "alive" and well cared for. Keep'em running!.

Today I got my 30M, finally!. I'm about to open a thread introducing her to the community. Opening thread in 3,2,1...
