My Romanian TTC In It's Sunday Finest

I have not tried that. So you like what it does for the stocks?

It contains solvent and goes on thin. After a few minutes the solvent evaporates, the surface hazes and after a cloth rub you get a very thin surface coating that doesn't feel particularly waxy to the touch but repels water nicely.

I suppose I like it because it's a wax that does the job without getting in the way. Probably not the only product that does this but, as someone still married to the same woman after 40 years, my inclination is to stop looking once I find something satisfying. :)

I have other Commie pistols, Tokarevs and Makarovs, with stars on the grips so it doesn't bug me, comes with owning Commie pistols. Marschal even
offers grip with the Hammer & Sickle, which struck me as dumb as I've never seen a Commie pistol of any kind with a Hammer & Sickle on the grips but
maybe I haven't gone down the Commie gun rabbit hole deep enough.

I might help to think of them as civilian war trophies. The Cold War has been expensive and these are tangible dividends.

What's a recommendation for a good paste wax then? I'm clueless as I've never used a wax, other than on a car.

Lots of people recommend Renaissance Wax which is expensive but supposed to got a long way. I started with Johnson's paste wax back in the mid '60's as a way to prevent rust on my guns and it has done an excellent job on both wood and metal so I have stuck with what I know works. Although Johnson's has discontinued it's production it's still available on Amazon at a reasonable price and for enough to do you for a long, long time. Trewax also makes about the same product for just a little more money. My guns on both wood and metal, milling/drilling machine table, table saw table, any metal surface I use and don't want to rust or wood I want to stay in good condition gets a coat of Johnson's wax.

Good to know, I'll give it a try. Thanks.
