I though I would show my son's S &W model 10.

This is a late 70's Bill Davis PPC Custom Model 10 with full round barrel and undelug with Aristocrat sights. The trigger is smooth and polished, and the hammer was bobbed and polished as well. So the gun is primarily DA, although if you make an effort you can manually cock it.

The DA trigger pull is a ridiculous 3.5lb, and to say it's a tack driver is an understatement. We bought this from a friend of mine who used to be a NAPA police officer, and competed in PPC matches. The S&W itself is a M10-7.

Most of the west coast PPC guys shot either a Bill Davis or Alan Tanaka "purpose built" PPC Open Revolver. The later Davis model "Wind Master" was designed in collaboration with one of his builders, Jerry Eason a former NRA National PPC Champion. I traveled with both a "Wind Master" and a Tanaka Grade III. It was like steering the bullet into the target.

Shooting CA, NRA-PPC was particularly challenging since there were always 3-4 previous PPC champions at every match! Seeing 1497's out of 1500 was routine for these guys!

It was humbling to say the least shooting with these guys!

Smiles,

Okay! My police turn-in Model 10 (shoots okay but looks like it had leprosy) is really jealous. That is a gorgeous piece and must be a dream to shoot. Thanks for sharing.
