I don't know if this is correct or if I should post this on The High Road but I felt compelled given some of the nasty things I have read about the movie to post it on some public forum including the Rolling Stone headline American Sniper is Almost Too Dumb to Criticize.

Because of many young men and women, I was allowed to have objections to the Iraq War because they served. Because these men and women served, people were allowed to criticize the war and didn't have to worry about having to contend with a draft. These brave souls gave of their time and their lives and we should respect their sacrifice. From September 2001 to today I have had the opportunity to attend an accredited university, obtain my Bachelor's in Journalism, earn a teaching certification, watch my career melt down and change careers yet again. Some never even made it that far. I owe these people a debt of gratitude. I didn't have to worry about a draft and I sure as heck didn't have to worry about someone sending shots my way because there were volunteer soldiers who stepped up. Wars will be fought even if the people don't want them and those in power WILL get the man power necessary. I work with these men and women on a daily basis. They are in large part forgotten. I had a conductor trainee who told me he had three soldiers under his command who returned to empty houses. I had another who told me close to tears that his whole life melted down while he was over there. I know men who talk to me about the wars because it seems no one wants to talk their issues out with them. This is unacceptable. We need to start listening to these people. I really don't see how this is a partisan issue.

That is it. If this was too heavy and not High Road material, I can talk about the latest AR I built, the last lot of ammo I loaded or the latest milsurp firearm I purchased. All of which I was able to put in my safe because of a volunteer force who decided they were called to step up and allow me the opportunity to dodge a "draft." Thank you gentlemen and ladies.

How would you rate the movie scale of 1-5 , with 5 as excellent and 1 as not worth it ? Im planning to see it tomorrow or next week with the matinee hrs.
