Yep, I've sent a bundle of ammo downrange with mine too. It's a great gun. But it's hardly new. They've been selling them for a good three years or more at this point I believe.

The longer barrel gives the shooter a more useable sight baseline length so that they can actually get decent hits even at quite a distance. The trick is learning how to hold it and pull that rather stout trigger so you don't make the gun jerk to the side when the trigger breaks.

My own Earl was out again just last week where I and a few other club members shot it. Our indoor range is 18 yards and I kept 15 rounds all within about an 7 to 8 inch circle with the exception of a couple of fliers that were still on the paper. I must have been out of practice though because I've managed to get 2 to 2.5 inch groups at 12 yards on a regular basis in the past when I was shooting it more regularly.

The loading method slows things down a little but I'd estimate that over the couple of years that I've had mine I've probably shot somewhere between 600 to 700 rounds through it and it's been nothing less than 99.5% reliable.

The missing .5% was chalked up to a serious barrel leading issue it had when new. After 50 or so rounds running a barrel brush through it had flakes of lead coming out. But by the time I got up to around 200 rounds fired the burrs or roughness had burnished away and I've not had any sign of leading since. So I chalk it up to a slight breaking in issue.

I've only shot a few rounds from the Magnum cylinder but I can tell you that she's a handful with them. The gun definetly kicks and rolls in your grip! Not to the extent where it wants to jump out of your hands but hard enough that it makes for a big grin. Come to think of it perhaps it was shooting the copper jacketed magnums that "fixed" the leading up issue. Around the 200 shot mark would be when I finally got a box of Magnums to try.

I have the super companion and its generally accurate out to 20 ft, mind I haven't had this pistol long so I'm far from proficient with it. But many people on here have the BP version of a NAA and they can be somewhat accurate. You're looking at the 'Earl' and that version has a 4 inch barrel and I think its basically a mini 1958 Remington. I'm definatly planning on getting one,

Its actually a copy of the 1858 remington, not the 1860 colt.
The remington had that style grip, a top strap, octagon barrel, and the fin on the loading lever.

looks more like a 1858 to me to

Actually the n a a companion is a replica of a 1860,s suiside special stamped my companion, which was produced in percussion and later 22 short and 32 rimfire,an original sold at auction for a mere 120.00 in good condition, gazillions of pocket pistols were made in the old western days, many by unknown makers, copied by all who could sell them.

1863 Remington Pocket

I think it looks more like an 1863 Remington pocket, look at the spur trigger, the boot grip, the loading lever, the octagonal barrel. Looks to me like they copied the 63' Remington pocket but with a North American Arms twist to it. Sure is great to have something on the market that is so unique, now if I could only convince Sandy to make a .22 short Companion. With Bullseye that would be about as powerful as the cartridge version and kinda cute!

your correct levi

Amazing how the obvious escapes me at times, an 1863 pocket exact scale replica in 31 cal made of ss from N A A would be nice, even if it cost 599.00.I would buy one, although the earl cap and ball 1860 msrp is 309.00

Once I get a good paying job I might get one, if the quality is anything like the other NAA revolvers then I'm still getting a good deal on a great firearm.

I wonder what 2 grains of Bullseye would do in one of these, if my .22 Magnum equivalent gets about 1200 with 2 grains and it has a 1 5/8" barrel on it imagine what a 6" barrel would do! My guess is it would be about as hot as a high velocity .22 Long Rifle round out of a full length rifle barrel, maybe around 1400 FPS.
