Hi everyone,

Relatively new reloader, got started with the help of you all with a 6.5x55 Swede Tikka I bought for my son's Christmas present. When researching powders I settled on RL-22 and N160. Now I want to reload some 270. While I have smaller amounts of the classics like H4831, AA 2450 and even Varget, I have tons of RL-22 and even more N160.

I don't hear about N160 being used much with 270s; does anyone out there have experience with this combination? I'm loading 130g plinking ammo right now; I've worked up some RL-22 loads but haven't the N160 yet.

Opinions?

Thanks

The current Speer #14 Reloading Manual lists both your powders for the 130 gr bullet in the 270 Win:

N160 Starting load 51.5gr Max load 55.5gr
Rel 22 Starting load 54.0gr Max load 58.0gr

Both powders will give you slightly over 2900 fps at maximum, but please be safe and work up to that load. :)
