I have a NAA Mini in 22lr that I bought a year or so back more for the novelty of it. Really impressed with the quality and workmanship. Fun to shoot for a while, but reloading is a pain so it mainly resides in the safe. I saw a pocket holster for it on sale and bought it, and you know the darn thing isn't any bigger than a pocket knife.

So I figure why not carry it basically everywhere? Don't get me wrong this will not replace my normal IWB daily carry, but as small as it is no reason not to throw it in my pocket also. So now I am heck bent on getting a 22mag version. But for you performance and data gurus out there, how much more powerful is a 22 mag over a 22lr out of a 1 1/8" barrel? Is it worth the trouble and extra cost of selling or trading mine and buying a new one?

Of course if the sidewinder becomes readily available I am liable to have even another reason to buy one ;)

Naa 22LR Mag load

I also have the same model with both cylinders. I have found the Magnum quite a bit loader than the 2LR. I carry it quite abit with the holster. Kinda of my going to church gun. True it ia a PITA to load and unload but it gets attention when I shoot it at the range.

Don't have a number for you but the increased case capacity will make a significant difference, regardless of barrel length. How much more will be relative to the length of the barrel, but if you are thinking self defense it would be worth it IMO.

On NAA web site they have performance data for various models and 22WMR comes out significantly better than 22lr. The sweet spot is about 2".

great review Arizona!

Very detailed review, links to holsters, etc. Great job! I used your review to validate my decision to buy a Pug. Just bought it Wednesday and shot it Friday. I bought 500 rounds of CCI, and 50 of Winchester PDX1 Defender. Right now the Pug is in my DeSantis pocket holster that I used for my Seecamp, with a small kydex holster on order.
