Does anyone know if the 140 grain Nosler ballistic tips in 7mm are interchangable with the 140 grain accubonds? The weight, SD, and OAL are all the same so Im curious if I could switch bullets using the same load of IMR and shoot the same POI. The only wild card is jacket hardness. Thoughts?

I've used them interchangeably through this year without any harm in my wifes 7mm-08.

I now have a much cheaper source of .284 bullets, so will use those instead- but, you should be safe.

When in doubt, reduce and work up. In reality, you should be fine.

I found that the jacket hardness was a difference when I did this experiment in a 270 WSM using NBT vs NAB. There was a full 1 grain difference to hit the same velocity over my chrony, everything else held equal. I surmised that the NAB bonding process softens the gliding metal.

I found the Accubonds would take more powder before showing signs of pressure compared to the BT as well, never thought of the gilding metal being softened by the hot lead before, good surmise!

In my Parker Hale I can load a charge equivalent to what would start to show signs of pressure via the primer with Ballistic tips, however I don't actually load that high as it isn't the most accurate load I found.
