1910 Mauser pocket pistol in 6.35mm. I need to find a disconnector for my gun, which was made in the 1921-1928 timeframe. I bought it on GunBroker, relatively cheap because it is reblued and one serial number doesn't match. What I didn't know was that a couple of parts on the inside were of recent manufacture. I'd swear the disconnector was made of cheap pot metal--it broke the second time I took the gun to the range. Any help would be appreciated. Most of the on-line parts folks don't carry parts for the .25 model. A couple of places have a few parts for the .32.

I'd even be willing to pay to have this part fabricated, so if you know of a good gunsmith who might undertake this, please let me know. It is a very simple part, but I think it needs to be made from good steel.

The gun really shoots well and deserves to be repaired properly.

A lot of these disconnectors break

I called one major parts supplier and was told they get a lot of requests for this part, but they don't carry it. I will probably have to make one.

The disconnector is fairly easy to make. If you plan to shoot the gun much (something I don't recommend) make it from tool steel and harden it after you get it fitted and working. Those little guns (1910/1914/1934) have a reputation for breaking parts, mainly those leaf springs. It has always surprised me that Mauser, with a reputation for making nearly indestructible rifles, turned out pistols that break if you look at them hard.

Going to make one

My cousin is a machinist & he said he would help me make the part. He has facilities for hardening too.

I bought the gun to shoot it. It isn't really collectible, since it has been re-blued and the side-plate serial number doesn't match. It is quite accurate and fun to shoot.

I try to remind myself that these pistols are from the earliest days of the semi-auto, when folks were still trying to figure out what worked.
