Thanks, looking for holiday gifts.

Third, thanks for the offer but looking to give these away. My oldest newphew (loves math and mechanics, hates to read) and a friend's son are on track to becoming engineers and I want to encourage to focus their talents on pressing concerns.

If you can find a copy of "Handbook on Weaponry" from Rheinmetall you'd be doing well.

It's very math heavy, but gives a rundown of explosives chemistry, armore piercing projectiles, muzzle brakes, field artillery, analytical ballistics, etc.

I have a copy of the 2nd english edition, 1982. You'll have to pry it from my cold dead fingers.

I wish I could find a copy of that book - last I saw, they're going for well over $250 a copy. Where'd you find one, anyway?

A colleague called Rheinmetall and asked politely. At the time I was in the gun industry. They sent us 3 copies as a professional courtesy.

The other really good one (actually ones, it's a 5 volume set) is "The Machine Gun" by George Chinn.

In the 50s it looked like firearms were going to go away, replaced by rockets and nukes. IIRC, Chinn was a colonel in the Marines, and was afraid we would lose what had been learned about firearms, took it upon himself to write an encyclopedia on machine guns.

Last I looked, individual volumes were ~$200 and the set was ~800.

Looking at ABE Books, it looks like the prices have come down some.

Good or excellent conditions volumes appear to be ~$100

Third i have a fiew myself , but was wondering if that pdf offer was good for anyone , if so i will pm an addy to ya .

Sure, why not? It will take a few days for me to get the PDFs out to those that already PMed me, though. Do PM an address. :)

Third pm sent , and possibly with some assistance if you want to simplify and not attach so much on mail .
