Need date/identify Colt 38 revolver

Have Colt 38 D.A. 6 shot revolver.Aug 5 1884 Nov 6 88 Mar 5 95 on top.. Serial 124 over 491 on butt. 802 on frame 3 places. 802 has a "N" under it on frame. Purchased 1963 New Orleans, LA.

Serial number and patent dates point to a New Army made in 1899.
Caliber is .38 Long Colt, not Special, NO WAY .357 Magnum although magnums might go in the bored through cylinder.

Pictures would be good to confirm that, though.

Yup.
I think a New Army made in 1899 would be a Model 1896.
Looks like it has been reblued.
Ivory grips are a nice touch.
