I just found 500 berrys 55gr fmj-bt and upon doing some reading I seen where someone called it a cup and core bullet and said you cant use standard fmj-bt data for that bullet.

from what I gathered on here is a 55gr bullet is a 55gr bullet just load it the same and work up and use the correct OAL?

I want to load some of these with BM, H322 and H335 but don't want a kaboom or anything else for that matter.

You may want to give this little video a view. The Berry's 55 grain FMJ boat tail is just a standard 55 grain FMJ boat tail bullet. The "cup" is the copper jacket and the "core" is a regular lead core.
Berry's .22-Cal. (.224" dia.) 55-Gr. FMJ-BT Bullets with cannelure and swaged lead core provide superb accuracy at an affordable price.
"Swaged" refers to how the cup and core are formed to make a bullet. You do not want to confuse these bullets with Berry's plated bullets which use load data along these lines:
Question: Do you have load data available? COL or OAL?
We do not research or publish the load data. Please consult load data books or your powder manufacturers' website for load information. You can use published load data for lead/cast bullets or low to mid-range FMJ data, as long as it is the same weight bullet. Berry's offers our standard plate bullets which can handle velocities up to 1,250 fps and 1,500 fps for our Thick Plate (TP) versions.

If COL or OAL information is needed please email [email protected] or click on C.O.L. Chart here.

We recommend a light crimp on the bullet, just enough to put pressure against the bullet without denting or deforming the plating. If you were to pull the bullet out of a case with the proper crimp you would find no more than a scratch on the surface of the plating. If you are denting or deforming the bullet, your accuracy will suffer and the bullet may start to tumble before it hits the target.

Here are websites with load data information,

For what you have standard load data for any 55 grain FMJ BT bullets should be fine and just remember to start low and work up.

A jacketed 55 grain bullet is indeed a jacketed 55 grain bullet. An SFire is different. And so is a Barnes TSX.
Benchmark gives the highest velocities of your 3. Usually best to use whatever powder is given for the accuracy load in your manual though.

man ill tell ya ron if I ever met ya id buy ya a beer. haha. I just did a quick google search to see how they are for accuracy and what not and someone on another forum said use jacketed and another guy says go ahead and use standard jacketed data for a cup and core bullet and see what happens and said something like use SP data. I said well that doesn't make sense so let me ask the experts in THR. I did plan on doing a workup from low to high with them but his comment got me thinking. the OP was asking about using 3031 I believe and said he couldn't find data for the berrys bullet.

As Ron explained, cup and core is the type of construction. A "cup" of jacket material and a "core" of lead. Jam it up in the various sizing/forming/etc dies and presto, a FMJ, or a JHP, or a JSP, etc.

The Berrys shoot pretty well. It took a hair less powder with them to get the same velocity with SR-118 powder than the old ($30 per 1K) Winchester 55 Gr FMJs I had.

thanks guys I just didn't know where the guy got that info from. I also picked up a little bench mounted lyman hand crank case prep tool. getting ready to try my new bullets and new tool.
