Need help dating a Savage 24C

Anyone know how I can date a Savage 24C Series N "Campers Companion"? The serial number is B1518XX. Not finding any help on the Savage ID sites. Anyone here have an idea?
And if this is the wrong place I apologize but since it is a combi gun I couldn't figure out where would be best!

Have you tried looking for a date code on the frame?

Collectors will find a date code stamped on every double-barrel shotgun in the Stevens brands produced between March 1949 and December 1968. Usually, it is behind the hinge pin or ahead of the trigger guard on the bottom of the frame. It will appear as a small circle containing a number and a letter. The letters correspond to the years shown in the following table. Significance of the numbers is not known.

Thanks, but I have already been on there as well as every other site I can find with no help. Here it is with its full sized brethren and apart. It appears never fired or if so only to test it. The barrel block shows an SP in an oval but that does not show up on any Savage site.

Those date codes are for pre '68 firearms, then a law required an actual serial number on guns, which he has.

So his is post '68.
