Need help identifying a SxS!!!!

Hi guys I'm trying to buy a nice Coach gun and the guy doesnt know what he has and I want to know if he is asking a fair value for it. He told the the markings are
--- ttn model 1878 - p.r.c. ttn, lh, ca. Ttns pt. F.a mfg co. ---

Does anyone know who makes this and what the value could be?? Thank you!

Looks like one of the many cheap imported coach guns. New they can be had for around $250, so value would be somewhat less than that.

If imported, under the forearm on the barrels and on the water table will be proof marks - that will help ID country of origin, chamber size, chokes, etc.

p.r.c. = People's Republic of China.
Outfit named TTN brings them in from Communist China.
The Model 1878 is because of a claimed resemblance to the Colt 1878 shotgun. But there isn't much similarity beyond the bare facts of a hammer double shotgun.
Said to be hell for stout if you don't mind the Red Army connection.

P.R.C. usually stands for peoples republic of china, and the TTN was a dead giveaway for a chinese knockoff. If the asking price is around 200-250 bucks not bad, in my area they sell for around 289.00 new.

TTN does several repro shotguns for the Cowboy Action Shooting market, some sold under the "Cimarron" brand name.

The gun was popular with some CAS (cowboy action shooting) participants, but there haven't been any available for a while it seems. Scarcity and demand might have bumped the price some, I don't know, I don't see any at all for sale in the usual places I look to establish used gun prices. But if you plan on 'schooling' him, make sure you know what you're teaching first .
