I know I’ve asked a couple questions pertaining to a new Carcano that I purchased, but hopefully this will be the last one.
After I purchased my Carcano Cavalry Carbine in 6.5x52, I realized just how little load data was out there. Hodgdon has some, and Hornady and Lee seems to be a rehash of the Hodgdon data. My Lyman #44 and Cast Bullet Handbook #3 has a little too, but most is the same as Hodgdon, and the subsequent editions that I have don’t have any data at all.
Does anyone know of any other sources of load data for the 6.5x52 Carcano cartridge?
It seems that there is far more data for the 6.5 Arisaka, which has a slightly higher pressure (by about 1,000 PSI), but also about 3 grains less case volume; which leads me to believe that much of that data could be used in a pinch if I couldn’t find the powders listed by Hodgdon. I’d rather not go down that road with a hundred year old rifle though unless I had to.
