Ive had many firearms but find myself in a peculiar one at the moment. Cliffs on bottom...
On saturday, while at my local Cabelas, I saw in the used case two(2) "ANIB" Italian made Beretta Cougar 8040G (decocker only, no external safety) for $359 with no holster/wear marks. I went home that night thinking about the guns and Sunday morning walked out the door with both in hand(got a few weird looks for buying 2 identical pistols) after pulling the money out of savings. When talking with the gun library manager, I found out both pistols had been in their backroom for over a year and were actually NIB.
So I thought about "reducing my collection" and selling both pistols for ~$450-$500 a piece(Stoeger Cougar 40S&W sell for $429ish). Then I started thinking about gifting one to a family friend(bday in nov)and selling the other. But as I began fondling them, I found that I like them. Problem is, I didnt want a new gun as I already have a Beretta 92 and Beretta 96 among others.
FFWD to this morning. I get a call from my local Union hall and found out I won a Savage Axis .22-250 camo rifle in a gun raffle. The .22-250 cartridge around here is basically a varmint gun. I already use my .308 for Varmints so im pretty sure i'll sell it. If I sold the rifle, I could get ~$300 for it. This brings a plus side as it almost eliminates the cost of one of the pistols, which brings me to my conundrum. What should I do?
Cliffs:Bought 2 guns at a big discount with money from savings and planned on "enhancing my collection". Thought about selling one and gifting the other. Then grew fond of them and wanted to keep one and gift other but I really dont need the extra firearm. Days later won another gun in a raffle that I plan on selling.
What would you do?
-Sell all three guns
-Sell 1 pistol and rifle and gift other pistol
-Sell both pistols, keep rifle
-Sell rifle, keep 1 pistol and gift the other
-Sell both pistols, gift rifle
-other?
