ok folks i need some help.... i am the novice reloader using a lee pro 1000. Its progressive and i finally started loading up some ammo. My z bar got turned somehow and my shell plate shoved the depriming pin into the resizing and depriming die. i have fixed the z bar problem, but I cannot for the life of me fugure on how to get the depriming pin out...I would really appreciate any advice on this subject!

Loosen the top retaining nut as far out as you can, gently whack the de-priming pin down and out. It the pin is still flush with the retaining nut you may have broke the de-priming pin tip off and it simply looks like it is recessed. I also use a flat finish nail driver to get the stubborn ones through the hole. Good luck.
ok... by the retaining nut do you mean the one that sits on top??? i have tried to use two wrenches to move that thing with one on that nut and one on the die and that thing will not move! i think it is recessed because the end is still rounded and smooth, not chipped, broke, or sharp.

Yep I agree, its got to come loose, may be a stupid comment but make sure your turning the right way. Might even try to heat the die around the retaining nut to loosen it up. Got to get it loose or nothing is going to happen. Sounds like someone hired Hercules at the factory......
That nut is like a collet. The more it is tightened the stronger it holds the pin. It simply unscrews, no tricks to doing it. When you get it fixed, It should be loose enough so the pin will slide if anything goes wrong (like a Bereden primed piece of brass) but tight enough to knock out regular primers.
It must be Lee products ... I had a Universal Decapper pin snap last wknd (that's my 6th 'guaranteed for life' pin) ... had to wedge the 2 wrenches (good ones) between the jaws of a vise and crank it half closed to get the collet to budge.

Only breaks I have ever had with mine were on crimped 9mm casings. It will get most of them but every now and then SNAP!
No big deal. It happens some times. Easy fix.
It isn't stuck, it's tight for a reason.
It's all in the written instructions. Hold the die with a 3/4" wrench. Loosen the collet counterclockwise with a 1/2" wrench until the decapping pin is loose(for the sake of the collet, use a 1/2" box wrench or a 6-point socket, don't use pliers or vice grips -- use the right tools for the job).
Readjust decapping pin depth (look at the instructions) and tighten the collet again REALLY TIGHT.
Yes, it takes effort. Grunt twice. Don't be a weenie.

Yep - 4 went on a batch of crimped 223 with some off-center flash holes.
I'm wondering if I'm cranking down too tight on the collet and, instead of pushing up out of the body on a bad hole, the rod bends for a few cases. Then, on a subsequent off-center hole, the tip is angled enough to snap.
When I finally got it out, there's a definite bend in this last rod.
