I have a 1946 Browning A5 12GA and I plan on taking it to a 3 gun shoot this sunday. I've never done a 3 gun shoot before, but I need a little help. I dont know a whole lot about this shotgun, but I was having issues with it jaming on 2 3/4 dram load shells this afternoon at the range. So I changed it to the light load setting. Will an A5 cycle 2 3/4 dram loads? It ran perfectly on the heavy load setting with my winchester SuperX long range shells but I couldnt change the rings at the range today to see if it would work with my 2 3/4 dram loads. But should this work? If not I need to call my cusin and barrow his pump sometime tonight.

Thanks guys.

Interesting choice for a 3-gun. Loading under pressure with the A5 isn't the easiest. But run what you have, I guess. Hope you get it running properly. You're going to have a blast! 3-gun is great fun.

My friend has a Browning a5.

We have come to the conclusion that it is a neat freak. After approx 100 rounds, it needs to be clean or the occasional FTE starts popping up again.

Have you tried giving it a thorough cleaning and lubing yet with the light load setting?
