The new Springfield XD (M) .40SW came out recently. I've heard rumors that sometime in the future (not TOO soon) they will come out with a Springfield XD (M) 9mm and .45AP. Is this true? If so, how soon? The reason I ask is because I am about to buy a CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical, but I don't know if I should wait for the XD (M) to come out. The XD (M) can carry +1 over the SP-01 in the magazine, which tweaks my curiosity. The only reason I am still leaning towards the SP-01 is because it has been out for a while, tested, reviewed and has a good reputation already. The XD (M) 9mm isn't even out yet so if I wait to buy it and there is some mechanical/production error...well...I'm just trying to avoid wallet problems and having to wait too long. Any input?

The issue of Guns&Ammo that showed up yesterday has a multi-page ad for the new 9mm Xd(M). 19 rd. capacity.

So, I'd say, maybe, now. Or pretty soon.

.45 will probably be released in a few more months. Maybe in time for Christmas?

hmm...i wasn't aware that that issue came out recently...ill check that out

For what it's worth, I don't think you'll find many that will say that you'd be anything short of thrilled with the CZ. Those new XDs look neat though.

The 9mm XDM will be out in stores anytime. I heard about a week or two ago that they should hit shelves within 30 days. There are also adds for it in the latest American Rifleman.

The XD-M will surely be released in .45 ACP. Springfield can do some boneheaded things now and again, but with the popularity of the regular XD in .45 ACP they aren't going to screw up and not release the M in .45.

I saw ads in firearm magazines about XDM in 9mm, so it's getting close, but springfield's website has nothing on it.

I just called budsgunshop today and asked, and they didn't think it would come out till MAYBE christmas....

The way I understood it was that the XD model would still be available and the XDM would be an upgrade from that model. Don't know how true that is. I do know my local shop is anticipating decreased demand for regular XDs though. For my perfect looking XD 9 Service he only gave me $325!

If you think 1 extra round of 9mm might make a differance, you should probably just buy a shotgun or AR-15.

im a sucker for high capacity pistols. in reference to the AR-15...im probably going to get a Noveske or LMT sometime in the near future.
