A friend of the family brought me his shotgun a while back and asked me to clean it up for him. My dad told him that i am the gun guy and I could help him out. This shotgun was rode hard and put away wet 30 years ago so it was in poor shape. I took it apart and have redone the wood and refinished the barrels
but as usual I cant put it back together:banghead: The only markings on the gun are LEFEVER NITRO SPECIAL LEFEVER ARMS CO. ITHACA. NY. It is a 12 gauge with twin triggers and 28 inch barrels. Can anyone tell me what I have or
tell me where I can locate an exploded drawing or detailed instructions on how to put this thing back together? i cant bear to call Fred The Gunsmith again and
tell him I have another bag o parts for him. The money does not bother me its the laughter as he enters the back room:cuss: Thanks in advance

How far apart did you take it down? The design is fairly standard among most models of side by sides, so you shouldn't really have TOO much trouble getting it back in order. Just as a matter of history, Lefever Arms was bought out by Ithaca in 1915, and Ithaca also made a couple of "Lefever" models, but they were marked as "Ithaca"s.

My Dad has this shotgun and I too refinished the stocks.
Put the bbls back on the receiver block (I dont remember if the action needs to remain "broken" or not), put the hooks of the forearm back into place on the action and snap the front of the forearm back into place under the bbls.

I stripped the action down completely due to the large amount of rust. I failed to take digital photos as is my normal procedure. I will post some as soon as I can
