Due to feedback on this board, I'm going to be picking up a 10FP in .308 with the Accutrigger this week. I don't see much difference between the regular 10FP and the LE models except for the choice of stocks (for a premium) on the LE, as well as the oversized bolt knob and choice of 20" or 26" bbls. The regular 10FP comes with a 24" barrel, and that's the one I think I'm going with.

However, I've been reading that the new Savages with Accutriggers have a newly designed, rounded receiver that requires new mounts.

Assuming I'm going to be mounting a Bushnell Scopechief
4-14 x 50mm scope, would someone recommend some economical and appropriate mounts and rings for my new setup?

This is my first telescopic-sighted rifle, so I don't know squat.

Thanks!

weaver 46 bases and burris Z-ring are just the ticket for you. there good and stong. i got them on my 10FP .223

on the new Savage actions with the Accu-Trigger, you are going to need to use 2-front mounts for the front and rear. i hear that Leupold is in the process of making mounts for the new action and should be out soon.

Thanks guys.

Where should I be looking for some good price on the Weaver "46" bases?

Also, does the Weaver's or anyone else's bases for that matter come with the two 'front' mounts or at least can I ask for it that way?

Any sporting good store, that sells rifles and scopes, should have weaver bases.

The nice thing about Weaver bases is that they are packaged one piece per bag. Therefore, all you need to do is go and buy 2 weaver "46" bases.

They shouldn't cost anymore than $5-7/each.

Good luck,
Steve

Hey that is almost exactly what I got a few months ago!!

10FP 24" heavy barrel
Bushnell 3200 5X15X40

Just get 2 Weaver 46's for the base, and a set of rings.
