Long story short I have been looking for a little .22lr plinker. Dont need anything amazing just want something to be able to shoot cheap with. A local guy has a sterling .22lr for sale for $100. I know NOTHING about these guns other than I have seen a picture and did a little google work finding that they were made in the 1980's.

Does anybody own own?

What market value on this gun assuming its in good condition?

Is it a safe gun? Or is it another pot metal Bryco/Jennings/Jimmez type gun?

I had one years ago, It was a total POS, jammed every shot, went back to Sterling 3 times, never worked right, I got rid of it, and would never want another one. My advice would be to steer clear.

A Sterling has no use as a plinker. There is no sighting system on it that let's you hit something farther than 15' or so.

I had a new one in the 70s. It fired okay but would slam fire with some types of 22s (headspace too tight). Got rid of it.

I wouldn't bother buying another.

I bought one new back in the late '70's. Fairly well made, but far too many jams, failures to feed, and failures to eject, to make it worth the effort to try and keep it working. I'd pass on it.
