Need suggestions for non-1911 .45 ACP

My non-1911 favorites, in order:

M&P45
FNP45
EAA Witness Elite
HK USP45
XD45
Glock 21
Taurus OSS (I don't think this is made any more)
CZ97B

The rest I've never used.

I would suggest looking/ shooting. A m&p, px4 or the FNP in that order. Now the only 1911 I've shot is my Colt/Walther rail gun in .22LR, so I'm not coming from a 1911 back ground.

I have a PT145 Pro that is surprisingly excellent and holds 10+1 in a remarkably small package. I have NO idea how 10+1 fits in there, but it does. And it just works... Cost me only about $325.

How, I had reservations because I had a PT140 that was a unreliable POS. But after shooting many boxes of FMJ and HP through the PT145, I often carry it when I go jogging in a rural area where dogs are a concern.

I had taken a chance on the PT145 because of great reviews, and an understanding that Taurus had worked out the bugs when the designed the PT145 Pro.

I also like Glocks, SW MPs, and XDs...
