This is the new pump gun from NEF.It looks identical to a Remington 870.How reliable and durable are they? They looked well made.

It is made in China.
It is a blatant rip-off of the Remington gun.
Save your money and buy the real American made version.
The Chinese gun will never be the equal of the real thing.

If there's one thing the US gun industry does better than anyone else, it's making a reliable, durable pumpgun for less than a week's pay that can feed and protect your family for generations while providing recreation to many.

The best pumpguns ever made are found frequently in the used racks for less than $300. New 870 Expresses and 500 Mossies are oft sold at chain stores for about the same.

Buy American....

They looked well made.
that's cause they are well made. far as i've seen, there are no complaints about chinese shotguns that don't stem from them being chinese. that's a significant issue, to be sure, but there's not a darn thing wrong with the shotguns as shotguns, near as i can tell.

There's not enough difference in price to make it worth buying instead of the 870Express (which has the huge aftermarket of parts and accessories unavailable to the Pardner).

It's just another consumer rip-off, where an American company puts their name on a imported gun, and the consumer thinks it is American.
Buy the non-named Chinese shotgun, bought one at Dunhams for $99 on special!!! It's my house gun, the regular 870 is in the gun safe.

You would trust your life on a $99 shotgun over a rem 870?

As far as the Pardner's concerned, this is my take. I buy chinese products when I feel like the american made alternative is a rip-off that has a high dollar sticker simply because of the name that goes with it.
In the case of the Pardner pump ($200 locally) vs 870 Express ($240 locally) I think the Pardner is probably just as good, but the difference in price is not high enough for me to buy it over the American made piece. if there isn't a significant difference in price you may as well support the American business.

In the past (and maybe the present, I don't know) the heat treatment on Chinese firearms was suspect. I think some of the Norinco M14 clones had issues with soft bolts or something to that effect.

On the other hand, the Norinco M1911A1's are evidently made from some of the hardest steel ever encountered on a handgun. So hard that many gunsmiths were/are breaking and dulling tools on them. And most folks seem to like them.

The M97 Trench Shotgun clone seems to be (for the most part) well liked by it's owners and the Cowboy Action bunch has really taken to them.

I guess it's fair to say that Chinese quality is improving over the years. Seems like they learn by trail and error in many cases. Whether their QC has improved to the point to render them competitive with US made firearms is certainly a matter of debate. You'll always have someone who says "My Norinco shotgun has been flawless, unlike my POS Remington/Mossberg/ Ithaca/ Benelli/whatever" and the reverse is also to be widely encountered.
