Mods, apologies if this is OT...

For those who are unaware, eBay and Live.com are running a cashback promotion. Details are here: http://www.jobrelatedstuff.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=388117
Windows live and eBay are doing a promo right now where you can get 25% off any buy-it-now item. This includes optics. Most of the time I wouldn't touch eBay optics with a 10-foot pole, but the micro hasn't been copied yet by the chinese, so...

In addition, some of you guys may have eBay accounts set up already, and you may have gotten a coupon in your e-mail that gives you 10% any purchase. These two offers stack, as I just found out.

So anyway, if you go to "live.com" and type in something like "ipod", click the eBay link that has a "cashback" icon next to it. Once you're on eBay, look for "Aimpoint H-1" or whatever it is you want to find. Click a buy-it-now auction that you're interested in, and then click "purchase". Before you finalize it, there will be an option that says whether or not the auction qualifies for 25% off. Obviously, if it doesn't qualify find another item that does.

Some sellers are selling micro H-1's for around $470. Find one of those that qualifies for cash back, then buy it. During the process of paying, you can also enter that 10% off code you *may* have got in your e-mail. This docks the price to ~$430, then you get 25% off that later.

After paying ~$430, you get a message from the microsoft or something that tells you what to do next. You have to sign up for a windows live account or something (painless) and in 60 days they send you the extra 25% off that price (to your paypal account). No ****... Now I'm just waiting for the money.

The linked thread has more details. The percentage varies... some folks got 25%, right now it's 15%, and I got 20% (+10%) off my Aimpoint (got it for $312, NIB). You will need a Paypal account and a Live.com account (both free to set up).

I know eBay is evil and anti-gun. However, you can save some pretty big $$$ on scopes, TVs, DVD players, and other miscellaneous gear. Have fun! :)
