New barrel

I have a 500a Mossberg with 8 shot tube. where can I get a 28in. barrel for it? Mossberg used to make one for it but I'am not sure if they still do.

Would assume it is 12 gauge. Most 8 shot Mossberg shotguns are 12 gauge.

12 gauge. has the long bottom tube, 7 with one in the chamber. I know I can buy the shorter tube and a new barrel but it would be a hassel to change very often. I read that they made a 28in. barrel for the long tube at one time, don't know where to find one

They did - I've seen exactly one of them, so far. Where to find one these days, I don't know.

If you have a decent 'smith in your area, you could perhaps get him to move the barrel lug on a standard barrel to fit the longer mag tube...
