I recently purchased a BFR in 475 Linebaugh from MR. I had them work the action and lighten the trigger. I also had them cut the barrel to 4 inches from the front of the frame or 4 1/2 inches. I had the folks at Eagle Grips make up a set of Buffalo Horn grips to fit my smaller hands. I have been shooting Buffalo Bore 420 grain "light" loads at 950 fps and a couple of boxes of 420 grainers loaded to 1400 fps. Those are pretty stiff. I plan to reload for this caliber as soon as I have a supply of brass and will be using this gun for hunting deer, hogs, bear and hopefully moose. I would love to hear from anyone with experience with the 475 and especially with the BFR. I am also looking for an express type set of sights. I really like the Freedom Arms express sights but they will obviously not fit. I was going to purchase the FA, but I like the fact that the BFR can safely be carried with alll five rounds. Thanks for any helpful information or feedback.

SJ - sounds like a real interesting custom gun you have finished up with :)

Well - I am somewhat ''Mr Standard'' with my 45-70 BFR - love the beast but also like long tubes so - mine is unaltered and suits me just great.

I did add a Bushnell Holosight to mine and find it is one heck of a useful accessory - steel plate at 100yds - ''ping'' every time ;). I load ''generous'' but not max'd out, as I do for the Ruger #1

Here is a pic - (let's see yours eh?)
