Finally talked my friend into a trade, 1966 Colt Commercial. Someone made a Bullseye gun out of it, I can tell ya. It is a tac driver. Here it is with Stags, and Ivories. Has Orange peel stippling, and S&W revolver rear sites.
Please post any pictures of 1911's you have.

nice looking Colt
Looks like a lot to carry.. though
This is my EDC Kimber ultra carry 45 ACP with combat defense package
25 oz. all alloy...Meprolight night sights and crimson laser grips... bushingless stainless steel bull barrel, and carry melt modification.

Sweet looking Colt Government; like the engraving (especially with a blued finish), and the ivory and stag stocks. The S&W rear sight appears to be nicely done though you have to make sure the set screws are secure into the slide. If metal was removed from the slide to allow for the S&W sight the threaded holes may not be deep enough to hold the screws in place. Also the force of the slide moving back and forth can loosen or sometimes shear off the set screws.

Very sharp surjimmy, it would be nice to know who built it. I have an old school bullseye gun that supposedly came out of the Pachmayr shop in the early 70's.

How much did you pay for your Kimber, if I may ask?

A fullsize 1911 is my carry gun of choice, also. Yours looks very nice. Like Bannockburn said, keep an eye on that rear sight. Adjustable sights tend to be the weak point in CCW guns.

Man, that sure is a pretty gun. Almost too pretty to carry. Almost.

That is a sweet piece!

It appears to have been fired many, many, times, so it probably runs perfectly.

Nice catch indeed.

Evil.....how many rounds have you put through it? Looks very new for an EDC. I would recommend putting that Kimber through its paces before depending on it as an EDC. Maybe you are extremely meticulous and have fired 1000 rounds through it. Nice looking piece!

I have 3,000 rounds through it... in my 50 years of 1911 experience, this short barrel bushingless stainless bull barrel is all that it can be,... I shoot it every week, just to keep my edge.. I have 40 guns.. 15 of them were former personal carry... as you get older you hone your carry... I no longer choose a carry gun to go with my attire.. AS a tenured conceal carry veteran 35 years of civilian carry . With the world as it is today, I now dress around my carry, not the other way around... when calling on a personal defense weapon to save your life.. you do not want to be guessing what weapon you have today.. most people buy a gun and then buy another to upgrade to a better more effective or more confident EDC.. in my opinion.,.. its not in my best interest to hone my EDC skills with different EDC weapon... I have enough shotguns air guns and pistols to have all the fun I want but...my EDC is serio0us business.. and I want it to be part of my anatomy.. not something I have to think about.. I carry it every waking hour

I thank you for your recommendation but after retiring from the army and being a combat veteran, and with 2 civilian self defense encounters, and 50 years of 1911 experience,,, this is hardly my first rodeo.
