It followed me home. A Remington 700 ADL synthetic in .270 with a Leopold 3-9X40 scope on it.

I've put 10 rounds through it while cleaning between each round. Still trying to figure out how to zero it. I'm new to scopes. It is shooting 6 inches high at 100 yds.

I will either zero at dead on at 100 yards or an inch high. You can probably go 20+ rounds without cleaning and maintain accuracy. Let the barrel cool after 3 shots and you should have no problems. Most scopes will adjust 1/4 inch per click at 100 yards. Byron

Generally, from the .243 with 100-grain bullets on up through the '06 with 165s, you can figure that two inches high at 100 will be dead on at 200 and around six inches low at 300. This pretty much gives you a "point it and pull" range of some 250 yards, without having to do much thinking about the distance to Bambi.

Did you have your scope bore sighted? Either way, start at 25 yards and make adjustments, then 50 and move to 100. Fire three (3) shots for your group. Remember at 100 yards, 4 clicks will move your POI one inch. At 25 yards it is 16 clicks for a one inch movement. DO NOT get in a hurry. It's not rocket science. Read the scope instructions and it will work fine. We all started like that.
