H.R. 124 (Holt): This bill would require the establishment of a system for the registration of every handgun possessed in the United States, unless a state in which a handgun is located also has a system of handgun registration in place. Any person possessing an unregistered handgun would be subject to a 15 year prison sentence.

H.R. 143 (Nadler): This bill would expand the semiauto import ban to cover (1) any firearm that has a thumb hole functioning as a pistol grip, (2) any firearm with a detachable large capacity magazine, (3) any firearm with a fixed magazine which can be readily modified to accept a large capacity magazine, and (4) any firearm that uses .22 caliber ammunition.

Sounds like an attempt to copy the Canuk's wonderful ''registration system'' ........ that so far seems to have miserably failed - and cost many times the original budget!

Oh I just love good news.:(

Lets not panic ... yet.

The antis ALWAYS have a bill or two typed up and submitted to congress ... 99% of them die without even being voted on, of the ones that get voted on most of them die too.

If you had any idea how many gun control laws they have typed up and ready to submit ... I dare say that many of us would be ready to take up arms.

Keep an eye on them, but don't let the shear volumn of crap they come up with get you down. :)

:fire: Have any of these morons read the Constitution?

I think it would be very interesting to know when was the last time any of our congresscritters have even glanced at it, or the B.O.R.

Then again, they would probably just shrug it off as not being applicable to our current social and political realities. Sort of like some of the recent decisions of our august black robed high priest of legal interpretation.:barf:

What dischord said, and:

Every new Congress, random crap like this is introduced. For fun, use Thomas and query previous sessions for "firearm". You will see even crazier grabber proposals than these two examples. You'll also see the AWB didn't just spring into existence in 1993/94, in fact various forms of it bounced around in committees for almost 5 years.

Have any of these morons read the Constitution?
What the hell does that have to do with anything?????? Puhleese!

These congressional goobers are pandering to their base. They don't believe for a minute any of their bilge will pass. They post the bills to make the base happy.

The advantage of publicizing bills is you get a real clear view of the opposition.

For the gun-averse Left, the Constitution is a nice idea that requires constant massaging, part of our discredited "frontier" and "cowboy" heritage. They figure they'll correct its tomfoolery soon enough.

when you think that the constitution gives the states the right to raise militias and you try to ban guns, you are in your own mind not violating constitution
if you do this, you are however, WRONG
