New guy says Hello

Hello everyone.

A good friend of mine pointed me over in this direction so I thought I would pop in and say hello.

I have been making knives since June of 2004.

I absolutely love working on Japanese style blades but they frustrate me to no end. So most of the blades I actually sell are more American style, mostly hunters and camp knife types.

I work entirely with standard carbon steels my favorites being 1084 and W2 but I also use a lot of 1095, W1 (and 5160 if you really really wanna, I don't care for 5160 myself)

So, any questions you might have I would be more than happy to answer.

(I will go find the picture posting guidelines before I post pics of my work)

Good to see you here! I put in more tickets on your knife at the Iron In The Hat than I did on the shinobu I did win.

Stephan and I have sat around a vertical smelter making steel from dirt a couple of times (Stephan and a few others doing all the work with me rooting them on).

He's a heck of a good knife maker that I expect to be great some day and an excellent martial artists. Pretty good guy, too. (I did get that "good guy" part right, didn't I?)

Anyway, we're lucky to have him here.

Hso - I certainly appreciate the reception that knife got. I was really wanting to do Bowie right this year since in years past I've not been able to contribute much.
