It's taken me a month to decide, but I was checking out holsters at the Austin Gun Show and I picked up a Bianchi Model 100 for my Bersa Thunder .380.

My original thoughts were that I'd stay away from leather because I hate breaking in leather holsters, but this fits so well the gun was easy to insert and draw right from the start.

I wear it IWB at the 5:00 position, but I got a lefty holster so the grip is to the right (and I draw with my right hand). I'm aware I need to be careful not to sweep myself when I draw but I have dexterity issues with my hands and this is the only way that would work for me.

It is extremely comfortable, easy to draw, and I can get to it even when I am sitting.

I can have my pocket back now! :D  :D

Actually, I'll probably still pocket carry my P32 from time to time, but this is better.

Cheers,
ChickenHawk

Hey dude!!! Sounds good to me and - most important, it seems to work for you.

Me and IWB just don't get on!! My Bersa is best in my Houston Kydex paddle .... at least from comfort standpoint. Main thing I have to remember with that is to cant gun in toward body on a draw - cos trigger guard retention is a tad excessive .. easy to manage tho.

Otherwise it carries OK in that ''Ankle Pocket'' .... for occasional times.

Don't use mine for carry much ... as SP with the CT has sorta ''attached'' itself to me rather permanently right now .. even the poor ole P95 is lusting for some air - stuck in safe!!

Next thing is - I must find a holster for my Makarov ... maybe tomorrow's gun show over near Phily will find me something.

Holster Worn IWB

Notes:

Here's my Bersa Thunder .380 worn IWB.

But, I also have my Kel-Tec P32 in my front right pocket. I wouldn't normally carry both ;) , but I thought it would make an interesting CHL picture.

I need a better belt, and obviously I have to wear a loose shirt out (or whatever) but I wanted you to be able to see how it fits. I guess you have to turn your head sideways though!

PS- notice the roses are still blooming in Austin, Texas! :neener:

Cheers ...

That's your holster shown on the monitor (under all that glare), hehe.

Mine's black velvet over some kind of leather or synthetic, set up for IWB front and center, right hand conventional draw --the small of my back would be too uncomfortable as I'm often sitting at meetings for endless hours --and I'm just too small even for a Bersa. This generic holster cost me under US$3.00 and I hope it lasts at least a year. A similar holster a relative bought for his Manny PPK is still servicable after 4, so I'm hopeful.

I can't find a decent kydex outside for th Bersa in this neck of the woods...
and, hehe...

...the roses are always blooming here in the Philippines.

Wish I had a holster as nice as yours, Chicken.

Horge, If that's not a typo, you can buy a whole bunch of those before you toss as much as I did ($45.00) ! If it's comfortable and actually does last a year, then you're doing great at that cost.

Hi Chris, good to see you, too. :p

Not a typo :)
PhP160.00 = US$2.98 or thereabouts.

A three-fer mag holster for the Bersa, stiff black leather costs about the same. You do need to inspect any such item carefully, as quality control can be a little lazy. The vendors are happy to replace defective/flawed merch returned within a couple of days, though.

Firearms themselves are overpriced in this country, exceeding US prices by anywhere from 10 to 70%, depending on brandname prestige.
:barf:

Thanks for visiting the website!
There was a lot more I wanted to say about the Bersa after the write-up, but did not want to burden THR with it.

:)

Hey Chicken!!

Mostly for Horge's sake here is my solution ... as you know me and IWB do not get on too well ... this Houston Kydex paddle tho suits (me) well ... tho it does tend to gather lint!! Only slight downside of it is ..... there is a need to draw slightly toward body - as retention on trigger guard needs over come ... no prob - just needs technique.

And ... not strictly on thread topic but .. got these two Don Hume's today at gun show ... one for snub (will be SP-101 when M85 has ''bedded'' the leather!!) And the other is something that will suit my Mak' ... tho doubt that'll be carry very often. They are both ''Belt slide'' types ... keeps gun nice and high which I like. Not to bad at about $23 each.

Wow, that's outstanding!! The photos and content are all just excellent.

Eeeeee.... but that's a wicked nice paddle, Chris.

My main beef against fabric is it gets grungy AND often doesnt retain the firearm as well as leather. Best of all worlds for me would be a thin Kydex IWB, for the firearm and for extra mags, though I'd be ecstatic to be able to buy something like that outside Kydex you posted! Hope it doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

The $3.00 holster I have furthermore doesn't have the excellent profile of the leather Bianchi: Chicken's got it real good from the looks of it --better access of all fingers to where they need to get to, without actually exposing the trigger. Mine could use a redesign towards less material around the grip, and exposing some of the triggerguard to help fingers recognize/find their way.

Thanks for the kind comments, Chicken and cool9 :)

horge .. very remiss of me earlier ... I had not followed the link to your site. Kudos Sir .. you have worked hard there and it is most successful ..... well done. :)

You know - I cannot remember exact price on the Houston Kydex ... I'd have to dig thru way too many receipts (and that - believe me - is depressing!!). I think tho it is very modest expense .... probably not too different from Fobus prices. I can check but - IIRC we are talkin maybe around $20.

Retention here is - well - maybe too good! As i said - just that need to cant in toward body with the draw. Yeah - they can get grungy .. but I doubt this will see major carry duty so no biggie.

Any more info i can supply do ask ... guess one of us could even get you one if your import restrictions not a prob.

HardCOR,

The label on the packaging says FITS: Size 9

It specifically lists the Beretta M84B, Interarms Firestar, H&K HK4, Sig Saur P230, and (of course) the Walther PPK.

It's a great fit for the Bersa Thunder.

You could apply Armour All to have that easy draw.
