New Jersey SKS Question

I know that the SKS with detachable mag is banned in New Jersey.

However, what about the Yugo SKS with fixed mag? I know the Chinese and Norincos are legal here, but the Yugo has the little "grenade launcher" thing on the front. Does that affect its legality in any way?

IANAL, but there is no mention of grenade-launcher attachment thingies in the statute. So it'd be legal. (In theory anyway. In practice, what's legal largely depends on your rank in the Democratic Party.)

Yeah, that's what I'd figured. If it had a detachable magazine, then the 'grenade launcher' would figure into the equation.

I was 99% sure that this was Jersey legal, but you never can be too careful in this state.

the statute as written makes no differentiation between SKS versions, only detachable magazine or not.

Then again I'm not a lawyer and this advice is worth what you paid for it.
