I was in a Scottsdale gun store last Tuesday (I'm in the mood for an AR-15 and they stock Bushmaster, Wilson and Rock River Arms) and spoke with a salesman who turned out to be the owner of the shop. Long story short he offered me a part-time job based on our conversation! I filled out a broiler-plate application for him, discussed compensation and benefits and accepted his offer. He's going to call a few of my listed references and then start me a couple of days a week starting in November.

I think some of this has to do with the many things I have learned from TFL and here. The knowledge base on this forum is vast and I wanted to thank Rich Lucibella for TFL, Oleg Volk for THR, all the Moderators and everybody that contributes to the forums. I was lucky to find TFL and my luck continued through THR.

Thank you all for teaching me while allowing me the honor of your company.

Congratulations.

I'm jealous. I've wanted to do that for eons.

Scottsdale, AZ. Used to be called "The Wests most Western town."
Do they still use this slogan?

Congratulations on the job offer!

I have an offer to work part-time with my local FFL when I retire from the AF in ten months. I think it's a great opportunity and am looking forward to it. His is a very small store but he would like to expand and hopefully add a small indoor range.

Wow! The things that happen when you're in the right place at the right time. Congratulations to you blades67. If you ever need help with a question, you know where to ask.

Congrads Sir, I hope it is everything you want it to be.

I have worked part time in my friendly neighborhood FFL's shop for the past year. I hooked up the computer he needed to make electronic NICS checks and Dealer Reports of Sale to the state Department of Justice.

The pay isn't anything to brag about, but his wife is a good cook and I have enjoyed several dinners at their table, not to mention fresh salmon steaks from their fishing trips and fresh vegetables from their garden.

I would enjoy working in a gun shop more regularly.

Congrats on the job offer. I worked with a guy who did this at a local well stocked shop a couple days a week Mostly weekends to help them out. he swung a deal so that he worked for store credit and no pay but got employee discounts on all purchases. Used it to supplement his gun collection.
